Idea from Kindermusik

As most of you know I teach Kindermusik.  This is something we did in our Creatures of the Ocean class today.  It was a big hit.  I wanted to share the idea on my blog.  You can down load the crab song HERE.  For those of you with young children this could be a great activity.  Spend some time listening to the crab song and pretending to be crabs, then make and eat the crab craft.

Thank you Daenon!

I got a simple Sansa MP4 player to organize my Kindermusik music and help me learn the songs.  It arrived Friday, on Saturday I excitedly sat down at the computer to transfer all my music.  Over the past few weeks I’d downloaded from CD’s over 1,000 Kindermusik songs to itunes.  Being computer music illiterate I didn’t know that downloading music into itunes makes it unplayable on other music players!  OUCH!  I’d spent so much time down loading CD’s and I didn’t want to start over.  I spent 6 hours of absolute frustration trying to figure out a remedy.
Daenon was sleeping during my frustration because his flight back from Utah hadn’t arrived in  Houston until 1:30am.  By the time he woke up I’d given up!  It took him about 20 minutes on the computer and he’d found some free software and a way to convert the songs into a format that my MP4 player would read.  THANK YOU DAENON!

Space Camp

Daenon’s back after sending 9 days in Utah.  He was able to spend 3 days at the Christy McAuliffe Space Center camp.  He had a wonderful time and got to be the Captain on one of their space voyage simulations.  For more information on the center click www.spacecamputah.org.  If you’re ever in Utah and want something for the kiddo’s to do I would highly recommend signing them up for a space camp.  Daenon also enjoyed getting to spend some time with his sisters and brother-in-laws.  By the way Daenon knows his brother-in-laws walk on water, we all agree.

She's Amazing!

Our cousin Heather Janis won a photography contest with this picture. We appreciate all the emotions of life she helps us feel and remember!  CONGRATULATIONS HEATHER!

What We've been upto!

  A real Cow Girl!

We spent the 4th of July with Damon & Tiffany's family.  Tiffany's sister Shelby and her family also joined us.  We had great fireworks.  Probably didn't compare to Evanston but they were plenty big enough to have me worried that someone was going to get hurt.  Dover and Daenon enjoyed being pyromaniacs!  Last weekend we went up to Dallas for some fun with our other Texas Janis cousins.   Ethan gave his mission farewell address. We  went to a famous Texas BBQ rib place called Risky's.  It's in Ft. Worth Texas and except for the Humidity and heat it reminded me of Cody.  It's wonderful and hard to see these boys leave on their missions.  Shalayne came down with Grandma and Grandpa Janis and that was a real treat to have her around.  She even helped me teach Kindermusik on Monday.  We miss all our sisters!  Dover left for Arizona for four weeks and Daenon is in Utah for a Space Camp.  The house is quiet and I'm starting to catch up.  I had a big full week Kindermusik camp that kept me busy this past week!
